13th August 2023 - We had a very busy but enjoyable day yesterday. It was an early morning start for myself to attend a successful poultry sale in Louth with Sandra and the boys making the short trip to Castle Irvine Estate with our poultry entries for Fermanagh Show.
This was the first time Matthew took the lead in getting the birds prepared and penned ahead of judging and he was delighted to win the Champion Juvenile award with a White Wyandotte Hen with Samuel winning the Reserve Junior award with a Black Orpington Cockeral.
Overall we won:
Champion Waterfowl - White Call Duck
Champion Juvenile - White Wyandotte Hen
Reserve Champion Juvenile - Black Orpington
Best Rare Breed - Ayam Cemani Pullet
Best Light Bantam - White Silkie Pullet
Thanks to the continued efforts of poultry steward Jimmy Elliott in organising the poultry display and to judges Brian & Margaret King for making the trip to assess the poultry exhibits. Congratulations to Ryan McLaren on winning BIS with his Brahma Cockeral.
